It's kinda ironic that people on this site have a preconceived notion on what Si is, because Si somewhat deals with preconceived notions. But it's also much more, and it's why I am really infatuated with this certain cognitive function. According to Michael Pierce, Si is meticulous because it focuses on everything including the details of an impression, making it harder to associate phenomena with other things in an abstract way. But it's not because it sees less than intuition. Rather, it sees more, so it takes longer to form a viewpoint, but accuracy and precision is definitely reassured. This is why Si types are seen as more conscientious than other types. Plus, Si does not have to be concrete in itself. For instance Heidegger, a dominant Si type, was very engrossed and concerned with very complex metaphysical questions. So the point of this comment was to get you all to stop underestimating Si so much lol.

Sigmund Freud (born Sigismund Schlomo Freud; 6 May 1856 – 23 September 1939) was an Austrian neurologist and the founder of psychoanalysis, a clinical method for treating psychopathology through dialogue between a patient and a psychoanalyst. Freud was born to Galician Jewish parents in the Moravian town of Freiberg, in the Austrian Empire. He qualified as a doctor of medicine in 1881 at the University of Vienna.
