Biography

The lion cat is a mammal belonging to the genus *Felius* in the family Felidae of the order Carnivora. The lion cat is also known as the Linqing lion cat, white cat, or Shandong lion cat.Originating in Linqing, Shandong, China, it is a hybrid of the Persian cat and the Chinese domestic cat, and is therefore not currently recognized as an independent standard breed by mainstream cat associations. It is more like a local "mixed breed" cat. The lion cat is larger and slightly stronger than a regular cat; it has a wide and round face with a fox-like mouth; short ears; a straight nose and a strong chin; yellow eyes, blue eyes, or heterochromia; almond-shaped eyes with no upturned corners; moderately long limbs; long hair on its paws; long fur, mostly white, but also some with variegated fur. Its appearance is similar to that of a lion dog. The fur on its neck is relatively long, making it look like a lion. Hence the name.
