Explaining why 齐司礼 isn't INFJ. Fe is a value-based function derived from the external environment; Fe users look to collective norms and standards to form their moral values. How can 齐司礼 be an INFJ when he completely disregards Fe consistently over his 3000+ year old life, when Fe is INFJ’s auxiliary function? You can't say that he was "like an INFJ" when he was younger. His values haven't changed that much... Here is a quote from him when he was young, from over 3000+ years ago, regarding social values from his Chapter 18 card: “What others do, whether it’s common or not, has nothing to do with me. I know in my heart that they shouldn’t have died (translation credit: aishangotome on Tumblr).” This shows a clear preference for Fi over Fe, since his values are derived internally (i.e. I think this is right because I personally know it in my heart regardless of what the general social belief/norm is) rather than externally (i.e. I think this is right because it’s generally right to act this way according to existing social beliefs and norms). This isn’t just a one-time occurrence, because this view consistently encapsulates his belief system throughout his long existence. Since Chapter 1 of the main story, it is evident that he rejects existing social norms because he doesn’t prescribe value to them. You can find this throughout all of his behaviour, but I’ll outline a small example from one of his first appearances. When he was first introduced as a judge in the Warson Prize competition and was asked by the host to say a few words for the crowd, he declined to say anything. This is just one instance of an action that goes against what is typically expected, but he doesn’t *care* about what is socially expected. His value-based judgements are not based upon the external realm. While I just described why he prefers Fi over Fe, his Te is stronger than his Fi. Refer to Chapter 1 of the main story again: MC explains that she made a design that had a personal meaning to her, rather than necessarily being the most practical. She chose ornaments that represent why she initially wanted to become a fashion designer and that there’s no “one answer” to how someone could interpret the theme, as everyone has their own personal, individual interpretation. High Fi users love to champion these kinds of personal, individual sentiments. However, 齐司礼 completely disregards her sentimental explanation and shows a clear preference for Te over Fi with these quotes: “Everyone out there will only be able to grasp what it is you’re trying to convey through your work. In your work… that’s if we can even call that a piece of work… I don’t know why you have placed so much sentiment into it. So much, that it has totally lost its purpose as a hat (translation credit: jokertrap-ran on Tumblr).” Te actually works in a similar way as Fe as it’s related to objective standards, but Te pertains to validity judgements, while Fe relates to value judgements. He places much more emphasis on the end product of the hat and critiques the design through objective standards, such as ‘how would this hat objectively be perceived in the eyes of others?’ ‘Why would you use this material, even if it’s personally important to you, when it’s objectively not the best and most practical design choice?’ This is a clear preference for Te over Fi. He can only be ISTJ or INTJ due to his Te-Fi usage (I may make an argument for a specific type if I have gathered enough evidence). I know that the official said that he’s INFJ, but they clearly stereotypically based this off the four letters and not from the eight functions.
