Xiang Liang was the uncle of Xiang Yu, one of the greatest military leaders of the Chu-Han contention. He came from a noble Chu family and was the son of Xiang Yan, a famous general of Chu. Xiang Liang and his nephew Xiang Yu raised an army in Wu (modern Jiangsu) and became key leaders of the anti-Qin rebellion.Declared King Huai II of Chu as the legitimate ruler to rally support.
