What personality type is Hope Mikaelson? Hope Mikaelson is an ISFP personality type in MBTI, 8w9 - sp/so - 846 in Enneagram, RLUEN in Big 5, ESI in Socionics.
I get where ESFP voters are coming from, she definitely uses Se and Fi, and her Se is very strong, but I really do think ultimately she’s an ISFP- Fi is a quite a hard function to observe in people. The time Fi becomes easy to observe is when it's in its negative aspect and people are acting selfishly and emotionally. People with Fi dom will normally be making decisions based on emotions rather than objective facts. Hope does this a lot, and it’s really obvious. In the originals, when she kidnapped her mom that was clearly her Fi dom getting in the way because she was so desperate to get her dad back. A better explanation than mine I found online was this which I think is a perfect summary: (Fi) Hope’s deep sense of inner respect for her feelings, emotional awareness, and need to be true to her own desires is what enables her to forgive someone for his role in the death of someone she loves; she reasons that he was just playing his role and is no more responsible than she is. She prefers to work alone, she takes on the role of an outsider because it’s easier that way to cope with her deep feelings, and she is self-contained in her feelings. It takes a lot for her to open up and confess how she feels to her father – her sense of abandonment and anger over him leaving her on her own. She tends to act based on how she feels, and is not very good at foreseeing the potential negative consequences – she reacts with magic most of the time, convinced she can “find a solution,” but others like her mother or her aunt Freya have to point out the logical consequences of her rash decisions (inferior Te). Extroverted Sensing (Se) / Introverted Intuition (Ni) She is opportunistic and likes to make things happen – when she wants her dad to return to New Orleans, she stages a false kidnapping and assumes she has covered all her bases with magic. She tends to leap into instant action, helping another student become a hybrid and not just a werewolf, without thinking about the impact on his social life and how it will change things negatively for him in the future. Hope does have good instincts and a strong desire to make what she visualizes come about, but she often makes impulsive choices and tries to cover them up with more rash actions, showing how her Ni is singular in its focus but not able to cope with foreseeing and preventing complications. (Her helping the student got him murdered by the vampires; her binding and weakening her mother got her kidnapped for real; trusting a boy who likes her, and not figuring out his deception until it’s too late, etc). I’m not quite sure about her enneagram though so I’m going to do more research on that.

The daughter of the Original Hybrid Klaus Mikaelson and werewolf Hayley Marshall, Hope is descended from some of the most powerful witch, vampire and werewolf bloodlines, known at the Salvatore School for the Young and Gifted as the Tribrid.
