Adam Parrish MBTI Personality Type

Personality

What personality type is Adam Parrish? Adam Parrish is an INTJ personality type in MBTI, 3w4 - sp/sx - 351 in Enneagram, RLOEI in Big 5, ILI in Socionics.

I think he’s the definition of a 3 core, he fears being seen as a failure and is literally obsessed with social success. He always strikes for the perfect image because he cares about how others perceive him, they way he hides his accent and rejects gansey’s help and money because he wants to be seen as everyone else and accepting those money would probably make him seen as someone who can’t achieve what he wants, someone who is “weak” and so he thinks he would never be able to be what he truly wants to be in the future. Then he’s ambitious and a lot stubborn too + 3 with a 4 wing makes him more of an individualist and an hard worker, he is independent when he needs to put into practice what he believes is best without worrying about what other people think (like at the end of the first book when he sacrifices himself despite gansey and the others disapproved) and last but not least unhealthy 3w4 have a strong inner sense of emptiness over not knowing who they really are and seek themselves constantly, they try not loose who they want to be; an example may be in blue lily, lily blue Adam’s quote “ He left bloody fingerprints on the rock, but there was something satisfying about that. I was here. I exist. I’m alive, because I bleed. “ Adam’s need to feel alive, he needs to know that he is there too and he exists, that *Adam* exists and all over the book he is searching to know what makes Adam, Adam. At the same time he wants to reach his goal becoming like Ronan and Gansey, with whom he has always compared and another 3w4 unhealthy thing is struggling with comparing themselves to others so I believe that this suits him really well. oh and, I would say he has a 4 wing instead of a 2 one because of his “lonesome” state of feeling and I would like to say more tbh but I don’t have the time so there it is a quote (that is also my favourite all over the saga) that can explain very well: “ Adam Parrish was lonesome. There is no good word for the opposite of lonesome. One might be tempted to suggest togetherness or contentment, but the fact that these two other words bear definitions unrelated to each other perfectly displays why lonesome cannot be properly mirrored. It does not mean solitude, nor alone, nor lonely, although lonesome can contain all of those words in itself. Lonesome means a state of being apart. Of being other. Alone-some. Adam was not always alone, but he was always lonesome. Even in a group, he was slowly perfecting the skill of holding himself separate. It was easier than one might expect; the others allowed him to do it. He knew he was different since aligning himself more tightly with the ley line this summer. He was himself, but more powerful. Himself, but less human. If he were them, he would silently watch him draw away, too. It was better this way. He had not fought with anyone for so long. “ In few words: his feeling of doesn’t fit in the world or into his group of friends and so he tries to separate himself from them thinking that his new powers made him special, blame it on the fact that he’s different and doesn’t deserve to be part of something. Although he doesn’t fear to be alone, the thought of not fit in would probably make him sad and feeling rejected? but he accept it.

Biography

Adam Parrish is a scholarship student at Aglionby Academy. He is friends with his fellow students Richard Gansey, Ronan Lynch and Noah Czerny, and has a complicated relationship but strong bond with Blue Sargent. He highly prioritizes his education as a means of future escape. “I’m at work. Two hours from now, I’m going to my next job for another four hours. If you’re trying to convince me that I don’t need Aglionby after I have killed myself over it for a year, you’re wasting your breath. Be a loser if you want to, but don’t make me part of it to make yourself feel better.” — Adam, to Ronan
